The disadvantage of magnetic stirrers compared to homogenizers and overhead stirrers is that they do not work well with samples of high viscosity. That’s because there is no physical connection between the rotating magnet in the base and the free mixer bar magnet.

It comes with one magnetic stir bar, a power adapter, and the unit. It’s operated by a single switch and can deliver a good deal of power without throwing the stirrer off its axis. I used it to make structured water/shungite water, and it did the job excellently.

Between 400 and 800 rpm: The optimal speed depends on several factors, e.g., on the application and your sample. It is important to ensure a uniform mixing. Therefore, the speed should not be too low. The most common applications require speeds between 400 and 800 rpm.

The magnetic stirrer will have the heating function, which can reach a higher temperature, and all of them will have potential burns or fire hazards. More attention should be paid to avoid stirring and heating flammable objects; otherwise, it is easy to catch fire due to high temperatures.
